Coding in the Junior School
Kindergarten, Year 1 & 2 girls are enjoying our girls coding club. The girls are following the story Hello Ruby: Adventures in Coding. There are so many fun hands-on activities planned for this club, for example recently our budding engineers explored the components that make up a computer and made their own computers. Fostering girls interest in STEM from a young age is recognised as being key to boosting their self confidence and bridging the gender gap in STEM related fields. In Year 3 & 4, we have a co-ed coding club using code.org and in Year 5 & 6, we have girls coding lub. These clubs are designed to compliment the fantastic learning, including robotics and coding lessons, that already take place during our Science and Technology lessons from Kindergarten to Year 6.
